Just a quick mention about Mark Hendricks ISS Conference Atlanta 2008. It was terrific! For information about the ISS program, just click the link. Search Google for – ISS Conference Atlanta 2008 - and you will see a variety of links. I posted three videos and did two BlogTalkRadio shows that come up after the Imprinted Sportswear Show. I outranked them for the week following the conference, but they’re back on top.
The confernence was at the Crown Plaza hotel, near the airport. The facility was convenient. The staff friendly. The internet connection stable, although you have to login every 24 hours. I didn’t know that until a BlogTalkRadio show I was doing at 10 AM Saturday, October 25th, lost the internet connection because I had logged on at 10 AM Friday. Since it was confusing and took several minutes to reconnect, the show was cancelled.
Despite that specific inconvenience, the conference was great. Nathan Anderson, an SEO expert, was on hand to discuss SEO strategies during the course of the weekend. Combined with presentations by Pauline Wallin, an ISS member, panel discusssions and Q&A sessions run by Mark Hendricks, the agenda was solid and worthwhile. My presentation on using Blogtalkradio as part of an online marketing strategy was well received and reinforced my belief that everyone who has a message should have an internet radio show. I did a 30 minute ‘remote’ from Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen on Saturday night that I scheduled an hour before it aired. It was intended as a demonstration of the BTR flexibilty. Several of the conference attendees got on the phone to talk about their websites. Within 30 minutes, the show was archived as a mp3 file and available for download. I also did a show from the conference room with Dr. Ron Capps. You can listen to that one from the archive: www.blogtalkradio.com/schoolofsocialmarketing.
The platform is free. Just go to www.BlogTalkRadio.com and register as a listener. You will then have an option to register as a host. Once you complete the form, you will receive an email that you have to confirm. Then, world is your audience. Potentially. There are a few things you need to do, and learn, but it’s not too complicated. Especially, if someone is there to guide you.
If you need help, check out my website: BlogTalkRadioGuy. There is a basic ‘coaching’ program. I am developing a couple of levels as part of the School of Social Marketing, so there will be more added to the website when I am done.
