DEMA Show 2009: Moving to the Rhythm of the Sea

The annual dive industry convention, the DEMA Show, took place in Orlando, Florida from 4 to 7 November 2009. With 450 exhibitors and 4000, or so, attendees, the show was not as large as in the past, but those in attendance were upbeat and enthusiastic.
Dozens of seminars, workshops and social functions kept everyone busy. Many of the exhibitors reported strong sales, probably helped by the smaller number booths competing for the attention of the attendees. Whatever the reason, the exhibitors who did attend generally were satisfied their investment was not in vain.
2010 will be in Las Vegas. Everyone is betting on a full house.

Xray-deo Network’s Quick Tour of DEMA Show 2009 | Days 1 & 2

I’ve been in Orlando for the annual spawning of the scuba diving industry, referred to as the DEMA Show. Organized by the Diving Equipment Marketing Association – DEMA.org – the convention provides an opportunity for industry people to meet and talk about the state of the ocean, and their business.
I’m working with Peter Symes, publisher of the digital magazine – Xray – on a new project called the Xray-deo Network. My mission is to cover the convention using audio and video, then upload to the internet. So far, I’ve done three BlogTalkRadio shows, the fourth is today, and several short videos using the Animoto system.
Seminars take place each day, but the only one I’ve taken time to join is prestented by Jason Heller, CEO of DivePhotoGuide and digital marketing executive in the New York metro area. Using some of his suggestions, I am posting to Twitter and Facebook , in addition to Cinchcast, BlogTalkRadio’s new social platform.

DEMA Show Radio – Talking about the Waterside
