Consulting Masters – David Frey

Posted by: Ken English on: November 26, 2009

David Frey and Elsom Eldridge Jr. invited 13 of their consulting friends to join them on a DVD entitled Consulting Masters. This video features an excerpt from David’s 60 minute presentation.

Never before have so many consulting experts been assembled at one time for just one purpose…showing you how to generate more business. Sales and marketing are as much an art as they are a science. But contrary to popular belief, being great at marketing and selling your consulting services is NOT something you’re just born with, it’s a skill, a skill that can be learned…if you have the right teacher!

You see the sad truth about sales is that your most productive sales don’t come from advertising. If you are struggling with sales the worst thing you can do is keep doing the same thing. Your consulting business depends on you stepping up to the plate and making the necessary changes to start hitting homeruns. People want to do business with a particular kind of person. Your sales failures are telling you that you are not that person.

Excerpts will be used on www.BlogTalkRadio.com/consultingmasters, a new show I am producing on the BlogTalkRadio platform. Live call-in’s will begin in January 2010.

Memories of Comptonville, Part 1

Posted by: Ken English on: November 24, 2009

It was a social media workshop for a select group of home inspectors. Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Blogtalkradio – all part of the presentations during the day – were no match for the real social marketing which took place in the hospitality tent, affectionately known as the Big Top, at night.

This video is dedicated to Ken Compton, the mayor and his wife Beth. Their Southern hospitality was visible thoroughout the weekend, despite his attempt to connect everything to business.

Although pictures tell a story, they don’t do the spirit of the weekend justice. However, you can see that everyone had a great time, and, setup Twitter and and Facebook accounts, learned about YouTube, and listened intently to my presentation on BlogTalkRadio and Cinchcast.

I produced and hosted three BlogTalkRadio shows and conducted several interviews for future use.

On behalf of all the participants, the sponsors and the speakers, I want to say, “Thanks for the Memories, Mr. Mayor!”

Posted by: Ken English on: November 21, 2009

It’s been three days, and a lot of socializing. Home inspectors from more than two dozen states came together to learn about social media, from Twitter and Facebook to BlogTalkRadio and online video. The closing segment is about blogging and website design.

Goggle – Comptonville Home Inspection – and see and hear some of the activites that took place. Video from YouTube, Viddler, Dailymotion, Metacafe and others; audio from BlogTalkRadio; posts on Twitter, Facebook and MySpace.

The Cult of Comptonville – The Secret Ceremony of Induction 2009

Posted by: Ken English on: November 20, 2009

They came from as far away as California, and as close as Tennessee. Seeking enlightenment and a new direction from the wizard of wind. They found beer, wine, food and psychedelic popcorn.

Who is the king of the popping corn? Who is this modern day svengali who promises virtual friends to the friendless? Tweets for the tweetless? Fans for the faceless?

Although I can’t reveal his true identity, you can see him worshiping at the altar of the magic corn in these pictures smuggled from the dance of the faithful. Look closely and you will see him casting a spell over the silent silver kettle, adding a secret potion that removed  their resistance as they were drawn into to cult of Comptonville, one trusting person at a time.

Tonight, the ritual continues. Home inspectors beware. Your life will never be the same, if you join the cult of Comptonville and follow him into the virtual world of the internet.
